In the yards

The 110th National Western Stock Show took place in Denver, Colorado in January 2016. It is arguably the most important and prestigious livestock show in the country. People gather from around the country, and Canada, to show and sell their livestock. Some cattle are shown and displayed in the same yards today as the first stock show in 1906.

The photographs in this gallery are an eclectic collection of portraits of the people who actually work and show cattle as well as a few details that showcase some of the quieter slices of beauty between portraits. The photographs were captured organically, influenced by the people, the yards and the cattle.
